Elk Ridge Resort is looking for an on-site, full time year-round Events Manager who is integral to the success of the Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Events Manager will be the main point of contact for all Events and Weddings on Resort. They will collaborate with operational departments to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event and post event phases of all Events and Weddings. This position will oversee and be responsible for leading the full-time on-site Events Coordinator.
Specific Responsibilities
Operations
Completion of contracts, ensuring accuracy and completion in a timely manner.
Create, manage and distribute Banquet Event Orders in a timely manner to the group/client and Elk Ridge teams.
Facilitates various internal meetings as necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, Room block review, etc.)
Create Group Resumes and distribute them in a timely manner and hold regular meetings, to ensure all departments are prepared and updated for each group’s arrival.
Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for group/clients.
Proactively identifies operational challenges associated with client/group and works to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
Greets customer during the event phase and works alongside Banquets Manager and Banquet team to ensure event is executed according to Elk Ridge Standards.
Responsible for financial management of events, from quoting to final billing, invoicing, and taking payments, all in a timely manner.
Guest Satisfaction/Relationship Management
Responsible for building and maintaining successful and mutually beneficial relationships with clients throughout the planning, execution, and follow-up phases, ensuring client retention
Sets a positive example for guest relations.
Consult with customers to determine a comprehensive needs analysis.
Interacts with clients to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Effectively respond to and handle client problems and complaints.
Sales and Revenue Management/Business Development
Effectively manages client budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
Effectively up sells products and services throughout the event process.
Accurately forecasts event/accommodations revenue for groups.
Provides regular sales reports to Senior Management.
Be aware and in contact with comp set counterparts in the industry.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in an Events Related position.
This is a full-time salaried position. Evening and weekend availability is required.
Tripleseat Event Management Software experience an asset.
Maestro PMS experience an asset
Highly organized and ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail
Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
Quick and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to learn, adapt, and be efficient in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Applications
