Assistant Golf Professional/Back Shop Manager

The Assistant Golf Professional/Back Shop Manager is responsible for setting the standards of the day-to-day golf operations and customer service standards of Elk Ridge Resort. This includes meeting or exceeding employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction, sales, and financial performance of retail and golf operations. In this position we expect the individual to lead by example with a team-first mentality.

We provide a safe and positive work environment. The selected candidate has the potential for vertical growth within the golf department.

Responsibilities

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day operations of the club, customer check-in, ensuring elevated levels of service.

  • Monitoring outside services staff.

  • Merchandising and Sales promotion.

  • Inventory control and management.

  • Assisting in running Men’s and Ladies’ leagues weekly.

  • Ensuring all staff are always adhering to club policy and procedures.

  • Reporting to the Head Professional.

  • Maintaining a well-respected and professional image within the club, industry, and the community.

  • Playing golf with members on a weekly basis.

  • Teaching lessons & operating the Junior Program.

Qualifications

  • PGA of Canada member in good standing.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Tee On Software.

  • Outgoing and energetic personality and willingness to grow as a professional.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and multitask.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Strong playing/teaching ability is considered an asset.

Compensation

  • Based on experience

*May 1st – October 15th with the potential to work year-round within the resort.
